Happy Birthday Aunt Jenny!

Today is my sisters birthday!  For the last 2 days we have been the same age.  Although she always has to throw in some kind of fraction to prove she is older.  We get along so much better now that we are older, and I really like having her as a sister.  She is thoughtful, and always willing to help.  She has been our babysitter many times, not to mention the cute clothes she has added to Cortneys wardrobe.

Aunt Jenny and Cortney have a special relationship.  Anytime Cortney sees her she gets very excited, plus the both have the same middle name, even though the spelling is different.  Cortney even has an Aunt Jenny doll that she loves to play with.  Tonight we are going to go to a Jazz game to celebrate!  I'm excited to be able to celebrate with her!  I love you Jenn!

Happy Family!

For a while there we thought we were going to have to buy a new car.  Luckily we got a second opinion and found out we really don't have to.  Anyway before we found out I was a little stressed - no really I was a lot stressed.  One night I was sitting on the couch right before Cortney went to bed, just feeling overwhelmed with school and everything else on my plate, she came up to me out of the blue and sang the Happy Family song to me - the first time she has done it by herself!

"I love mommy, she loves me!  We love daddy yes sir ree!  He loves us and so you see, we are a happy family!"

She didn't get all the words right, but it was the cutest thing ever!  After singing it by herself she said "Mommy again" prompting me to sing it with her.  After a couple rounds of that - how could I not feel better?

Thanks Cortney!

PS - I had a great birthday, mostly due to the fact that I didn't have to deal with car salesmen all day!  We went to dinner with my sister Jenn, and her friend Nichole, which was alot of fun.  Jen and Chris decided to sing happy birthday really loud, not really in tune.  And Cortney got away from our table and went to another one where she dumped salt all over the table.  But it was still a lot of fun!

Cort's Party!

Thanks to Jen's Blog I was able to steal a couple pictures, but i am sure there are more coming.  This is the cake I made, it is of blue's head from blue clues!

We decorated with ballons and streamers.  By the end of the party all the helium ballons had lost their helium becuase poeple were having fun killing some brain cells!

This is when we were singing happy birthday to her.  That night she sang happy birthday to herself for about 2 hours before she went to bed!

This is me trying to get her to blow the candle out, but she decided not to do it in the end.  She really dosen't look that happy in this picture does she?

Ahh this one is better - this is more of what she looked like during the party!  It is just hard to catch it on camera.

Opening presents!

More presents!

Well enjoy the pictures I have here!  I will be posting more as soon as I can get ahold of Jenn's camera!

Gobias!

Finally after a couple days of contemplation we have decided to go with the name Gobias for Cortney's fish!  At her birthday party we played "Blues Clues" to figure out that she was getting a fish as a present from mom and dad. (side note: I really need to get the pictures from Jen's camera so I can post them here...anyway)  We were considering, Fish, A Fish, Mr Fish, Gill (from What About Bob), and Happy Birthday (that is what Corntey called it the day after her birthday).  But after a stroke of genius this morning we have deicded on Gobias!  I guess we are carrying on our tradition of naming our beta fish after our favorite characters from our favorite shows.  Our last fish was named Dwight, may he rest in peace.  We are also still trying to think of a name for his turtle friend in the bowl with him...

Happy Birthday Miss Cortney!

Miss Cortney,

Two years ago my life changed for the better when I got to meet my beautiful little girl, you!  Getting you here was not easy but totally worth it!  Everyday you have been with me makes me a better person.  You were an amazing baby, and now even though you are in your terrible twos, you really aren't too bad - most of the time :)

Over the last two years I have seen you grow so much.  I love that your eyes still light up and you jump up and down when you see me in the mornings, and sometimes during the day.  I love when you say my name and want to snuggle on my lap now.  Up until a couple months ago you didn't really want to cuddle with anyone.  I love playing the "I Love You!" game, and hearing you say those words back to me.

You are a beautiful little girl.  I want the best in life for you and I work hard everyday to give it to you!  Your daddy is wrapped around your little finger and cant help but kiss you all the time, and he loves it when you give him a kiss back.  We love you so much, and we hope you have a wonderful Birthday!

Happy Birthday Miss Cortney!

Love Mom

Papa's Popping

Apparently Cortney thinks that Popcorn Popping is is a song about Grandpa Kinville because she always says Papa's Popping!  Papa's Popping!

Cortney and her Beads of Many Colors

While living in Texas her uncles Paul and Jackson gave her a necklace they got from school and Cortney fell in love with it!

She was not even 1 yet when she started wearing them.  At first she only had white beads, but now she has many colors!  Lately she has taken to wearing all of them she has. Usually when we leave the house I only let her wear 1 or 2, so she doesn't look like a Mardi Gras baby.  In this last picture she is wearing about half of the ones she has now.

About Time!

I finally decided it was time to get a blog going for my little family so here it is!
