Soccer Mom / Coach!

Today Cort had her very first soccer practice!  I was planning on taking more pictures but I was so nervous I forgot - I was nervous because I was coaching!  It doesn't help that I don't know much about soccer, and on top of that there were lots of dads there, one of which said that he was a coach for a high school.  And then there was one grandma who was recordig me the whole time.

Chris said I did a good job! He said he could tell that I was a teacher, I liked that.  I cannot wait for student teaching this fall - I am so excited for it, but very nervous at the same time.  I am glad Chris was there to help me.  There were a couple times I needed his oud voice, and he is always fun with the kids, they always seem to like him.

Cortney did a great job.  Out of the 6 who were there (there should be 8) only two were girls.  Cortney was glad to have some company.  She had a ton of energy, and did a good job keeping up and being agressive with the more expereince players.  She made friends straight away which I really liked.

Should be a fun little season!

I will try to snag a few more pictures next time!

250 and counting!

First, and pretty exciting, most people don't know - I don't make a habit of tellling people, but I have a website!  It is a FHE website for infants and toddlers.  I started it years ago when Cort was a baby because back then there were not really any good lessons or websites for FHE lessons for such little ones.   For those that do not know  FHE stands for Family Home Evening, our church suggests having a family night once a week where we talk about the gospel and just have fun together.  So I made lessons and basically did all the grunt work.

I made a weekly email where I send out an email each week with a link to this weeks lesson.  As of this week I have over 250 people on the email list!  I get an average if about 80 page views a day.  Also for those interested I have sunbeam lessons, lessons for newly weds, and also Bun in the Oven lessons - 40 lessons for couples having their first baby.  It has been a hobby of sorts the last couple years, and I am thrilled it has taken off!  I don't make any money on it, and don't really plan on it, like I said it is just a fun hobby.  Here is a link if you are interested!

Also I have not posted the last couple of days, I am enjoying not doing too much, a little too much!  Anyway here are some pictures of the last couple of days!

Today we went bowling!  For had a ball!  No pun intended
She called this her scoops seat - she recently got into scooby do
So my pictures are not all coming in and they are all mixed up.  On the fourth we went to a parade....where we saw deer people, and more interesting things too, hopefully I can get these pictures up, kind of frustrating it isn;'t working!  We saw such interesting things!  I will have to post them later!

Here is her little 4th of July outfit!

Soccer Mom

This morning was busy with all kinds of errands.  We ran all over town just getting things done, and we got a ton done!

I also tried to braid Cort's hair all the way around her head for the first time, not too bad!

Cortney did not approve so much, she thought it was too "puffy" in the front- she so did not want to take this picture.
But I thought it was pretty good for a first try!

Also recently we signed Cortney up for soccer, which is exciting!  Then tonight I got a phone call, apparently there are not enough coaches so they were calling for volunteers...guess what?  I am now Coach Kim!  No I have never played soccer on a team (even when I was little), I don't really have any basic knowledge of soccer, and no I do not really posses any kind of athletic ability, but they needed help.  Chris said he would help out, which is good because I am going to need it - at least he knows more about the game than I do!  It should be a fun little adventure as a family!

Turbo and Bunny Popsicle

Another fun summer day!  This morning we had a relaxing morning and then went and saw Turbo.  I am not sure if I have mentioned it on here yet, but at the beginning of summer we bought a movie pass for $5 each, which lets us watch 10 different movies over the summer!  It is at 10 in the morning on Tuesdays and they play kid movies.

Cort liked this one and was giggling a ton!

We also used our left over fruit from the farmers market to make bunny popsicles today!  Cort loved them, and I like that they are so refreshing and healthy since they are made up of fresh fruit!  (Note: we still have not lost that tooth yet!)

I made a super yummy dinner today as well!  It was a recipe where you just put everything in one big pot and let it cook together and it was delicious!

Here is a closer look, it was pasta, mushrooms, peas, zucchini, and a couple other things mixed in.  Yum!  I will be making this again soon!

Side note: it was also ridiculously hot today!  Over 100 again today!  Whew!
