Disney Part 2

One night we were at the hotel the fire alarm went off.  Not so much fun, but a good story to tell.  I guess someone came back late - like 1 or 2 am and decided to cook something in their microwave and burnt it...ggrrrr.

The second morning in the hotel room "Cinderella" left cort a present.  It was a Cinderella dress and glass slippers!  She loved it!  Then Cinderella said in a note to go to the bibbity bobbity boo boutique for a surprise!  She had a blast!

PS - Tuesday was also Papa's 50th birthday :)

This is her picking out her hairstyle!

I would love to own one of these masks she is holding over her face, Genius!
 She had so much fun!
She was a little uncomfortable but the fairy god mothers put her at ease.  She even got her nails painted!
 And lip gloss!
 Cutie!

The rest of the day she walked around like she was on top of the world!

Video of When they did the "fairy dust"!

The third day Nana and Papa took the grand babies!  Cort and Ani were matching tinkerbells!
Chris and I had a fun little day date!  We went on rides and I surprised him with a foot treatment, which was wonderful!  I almost feel asleep!  Then Chris took me to see Catching Fire.

Disney Part 1

We were so excited for our Disneyland family reunion that we saved up for, for about 2 years!  We had a wonderful time!  Here are some highlights:

Cort and Ani rocking the shades the first morning!
Cortney beyond excited to go to Disneyland!
The first ride we went on pirates first (tradition!)  This is Nana, Papa and Cort on Small World
Cortney driving me around in Autopia - she was a crazy driver, as you can see by my face.  She was also laughing manically while doing it.  She is only 4 - I am glad I still have another 11 years before she will be behind a real wheel!
Cort and Daddy :)  The wings lit up at night, it was her Halloween costume!
 She met tinkerbell!
 Loved it!

Was not so excited to me Fern though...
I was jealous of Ani who could sleet through the lines.  Spencer was awesome at helping her fall asleep.
 Carousel!
This was when we were waiting to go on Space Mountain.  It was pretty late at night and Cort was so tired.
Her favorite ride was Star Tours :) even though she has never seen the movies.  She did not like Space Mountain so much.  As a matter of fact that night she woke up in the middle of the night screaming.  We jumped out of bed to see what was wrong and she yelled "Disneyland is Scary!"  Needless to say, even though she was tall enough no tower of terror for her!

Cortney Stories

After telling Cortney that I didn't like lucky charms she looked at me in disbelief leaned in super close and tried to convince me that I needed to eat some by whispering "But they have magic in them!"

Before Cort ever watched the My Little Pony tv show she had a rainbow dash pony, but didn't know its name so she called her Tex.  For the longest time she told me she needed a rainbow dash pony and I always thought that was odd because that was the first one she ever got.  Recently she got a new *princess* twilight sparkly pony and it came with a rainbow dash one.  She was so excited about it she was telling me how she has wanted a rainbow dash one for so long.  I explained that she has had one, that Tex was rainbow dash and she didn't say a word for about 5 minutes processing the new information.

We went to Disneyland for a family reunion and while there we went to the Aladin show.  As we walked into the theatre she said, "Ughhhh it smells like we shouldn't be in here".  I am not sure exactly what smell that is but it gave us a good laugh.

Cortney is growing so fast!  She is in Pre K!  (not preschool, apparently there is a big difference to her).  She is learning how to read, but slowly she only wants to work on it every couple of days and that's fine with me.  She has been doing great reading boxes of things.  She will know what is in the box and then look at the first letter and make up a word that kind of goes - smart!

Ok, more stories later!

Yikes!

Yikes!  I cannot believe I have not blogged in such a long time!  I have been way more than busy with school and my family than I thought I would be.  But we have had so many things happen I want to do what I can to update.  My classes just finished *yay*.  We are leaving for Dallas in a couple days so I wanted to see if I can get some blog posts up before we go.

There will be a few of them so hang on tight!

Hinkle Winkles

I was informed today that the little things that clasp overalls together are called hinkle winkles!  I had no idea, so I thought I would spread the news!

Thanks for the heads up Cortney!

Also as many people know I have started grad school, which has been stressful and time consuming but a great experience, overall I am very thankful for the opportunity!  But I do need to say I am more thankful for my amazing supportive family!  Chris is always there to calm me down and tell me I will be fine if I start stressing too much, which the last couple weeks has been often - there is just so much change in my life it has been hard to handle but things are settling down.  I am also thankful for Cortney who came and gave me a big hug last night before I went to class and said, "Bye Mom!  I Love you!  Don't forget to learn lots of new things!"  Sweetest little girl ever!

Chocolate Factory

We were attempting to explain the plot line of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to Cortney today, and this is what happened:

Cortney: What is a factory?

Me: It is where they make things.  What do you think they make in a chocolate factory?

Cortney: Paper!

Close honey, but not quite!   I love her little answers, couldn't resist writing this one down!

The Animal Fair!

A couple weeks ago Cortney and her class put on a little show for us called the Animal Fair.  Essentially it is just all the kids singing some songs for us!  It was pretty dang cute!

Undoubtedly you will notice Oliver, he didn't really want to dance or sing, but he is seriously so cute!  You should have seen him on Halloween he dressed up like a doctor!  You will also see Corts teachers Jana, Rachel and Rebbecca.  And their music teacher Dave-O.

Cortney will be the fourth from the right.  They are all wearing shirts they got to decorate, and she is wearing her white skirt.  They also made animal headbands - Cortney made a giraffe one!
