First Visit From the Tooth Fairy! + more

I started this post a while ago and I could not get pictures to work on the computer, then my classes started again and I got busy but I am here to update now with lots more fun stuff!

Such a fun summer!

Last week I took 2 tests on my quest to become a teacher and passed both!  Two more big ones to go, and I think I might be done with big tests (crossing my fingers!)  But it was a good week!

Cort now swims the entire length of the pool at swim lessons, which is amazing!  I think at the end of this month we will be done with swim lessons, they have served their purpose and she is much more comfortable in the water.

Chris and I had a date!  We went to Mystery Science Theatre 3000 version of Sharknato.  Which was awful and funny at the same time.  For those who do not know what Mystery Science Theatre 3000 is that is when you see the silhouette of these 3 guys watching a movie and making fun of it.  Sharknato was a perfect movie for that, and they did a pretty good job, we were laughing a ton!

Cort lost her first tooth, very exciting!

She got to use the same little tooth holder I did when I was little:

This morning I noticed she took off the top white part (it comes off easy).  She said she took it off and hid it in a box so the tooth fairy would not think that it was the tooth and take the whole thing!  Cutie pie.  Here is a video of the tooth pulling!

And here she is the next morning with her spoils!

Lets see what else have we got?
We ran into Chloe at the movies and they were totally matching!

We had our last swim lesson with Miss Deane

 Cort drew these pictures:
The first one is happy
 The second one is sad.
And she said this one is hungry.  LOL I like how the eyes are red and crazy - this is totally her when she is hungry!
 We painted our nails together!

Miss Cortney lost a second tooth!
Very happy about this!  Such a big girl!
She went to Messy Art Camp - she came how tired and messy every day, so much fun!

Chris got this cool shirt (such a hipster ;)
We took our car to the car wash and Cort always likes that!
While we were there we heard this guy run up to another guy and say, "The sheriff just vacuumed up some evidence, what should we do?" Oh boy!
Spoils from part camp, there was more too but this was all I could find when I too the picture!
Whew!  Pretty busy!

We also went to a birthday party for Ramen, Cort's friend from school, and guess who was there?!  Elsa!

Fun summer!

Soccer Mom / Coach!

Today Cort had her very first soccer practice!  I was planning on taking more pictures but I was so nervous I forgot - I was nervous because I was coaching!  It doesn't help that I don't know much about soccer, and on top of that there were lots of dads there, one of which said that he was a coach for a high school.  And then there was one grandma who was recordig me the whole time.

Chris said I did a good job! He said he could tell that I was a teacher, I liked that.  I cannot wait for student teaching this fall - I am so excited for it, but very nervous at the same time.  I am glad Chris was there to help me.  There were a couple times I needed his oud voice, and he is always fun with the kids, they always seem to like him.

Cortney did a great job.  Out of the 6 who were there (there should be 8) only two were girls.  Cortney was glad to have some company.  She had a ton of energy, and did a good job keeping up and being agressive with the more expereince players.  She made friends straight away which I really liked.

Should be a fun little season!

I will try to snag a few more pictures next time!

250 and counting!

First, and pretty exciting, most people don't know - I don't make a habit of tellling people, but I have a website!  It is a FHE website for infants and toddlers.  I started it years ago when Cort was a baby because back then there were not really any good lessons or websites for FHE lessons for such little ones.   For those that do not know  FHE stands for Family Home Evening, our church suggests having a family night once a week where we talk about the gospel and just have fun together.  So I made lessons and basically did all the grunt work.

I made a weekly email where I send out an email each week with a link to this weeks lesson.  As of this week I have over 250 people on the email list!  I get an average if about 80 page views a day.  Also for those interested I have sunbeam lessons, lessons for newly weds, and also Bun in the Oven lessons - 40 lessons for couples having their first baby.  It has been a hobby of sorts the last couple years, and I am thrilled it has taken off!  I don't make any money on it, and don't really plan on it, like I said it is just a fun hobby.  Here is a link if you are interested!

Also I have not posted the last couple of days, I am enjoying not doing too much, a little too much!  Anyway here are some pictures of the last couple of days!

Today we went bowling!  For had a ball!  No pun intended
She called this her scoops seat - she recently got into scooby do
So my pictures are not all coming in and they are all mixed up.  On the fourth we went to a parade....where we saw deer people, and more interesting things too, hopefully I can get these pictures up, kind of frustrating it isn;'t working!  We saw such interesting things!  I will have to post them later!

Here is her little 4th of July outfit!

Soccer Mom

This morning was busy with all kinds of errands.  We ran all over town just getting things done, and we got a ton done!

I also tried to braid Cort's hair all the way around her head for the first time, not too bad!

Cortney did not approve so much, she thought it was too "puffy" in the front- she so did not want to take this picture.
But I thought it was pretty good for a first try!

Also recently we signed Cortney up for soccer, which is exciting!  Then tonight I got a phone call, apparently there are not enough coaches so they were calling for volunteers...guess what?  I am now Coach Kim!  No I have never played soccer on a team (even when I was little), I don't really have any basic knowledge of soccer, and no I do not really posses any kind of athletic ability, but they needed help.  Chris said he would help out, which is good because I am going to need it - at least he knows more about the game than I do!  It should be a fun little adventure as a family!

Turbo and Bunny Popsicle

Another fun summer day!  This morning we had a relaxing morning and then went and saw Turbo.  I am not sure if I have mentioned it on here yet, but at the beginning of summer we bought a movie pass for $5 each, which lets us watch 10 different movies over the summer!  It is at 10 in the morning on Tuesdays and they play kid movies.

Cort liked this one and was giggling a ton!

We also used our left over fruit from the farmers market to make bunny popsicles today!  Cort loved them, and I like that they are so refreshing and healthy since they are made up of fresh fruit!  (Note: we still have not lost that tooth yet!)

I made a super yummy dinner today as well!  It was a recipe where you just put everything in one big pot and let it cook together and it was delicious!

Here is a closer look, it was pasta, mushrooms, peas, zucchini, and a couple other things mixed in.  Yum!  I will be making this again soon!

Side note: it was also ridiculously hot today!  Over 100 again today!  Whew!

Kim and Derric!

We have been busy the last week or so with some house guests...they left a couple days ago, but I am not used to writing on the blog I keep forgetting to get on, but we did take some great pictures!

This one is when Cort, Kim and Kim went to Panda Express for lunch!

Here is another one, later that night we went to How to Train Your Dragon 2...somehow kitty was sneaky and got into the movie theatre :)  she thought it was pretty funny!  She is also wearing a skirt Kim made for her!

One day we took them down to Ashland, and went into some of the shops, Cort was having a ton of fun trying on some masks!

And hats...

But she only wanted to try on the pink hats!

Here are a couple of me and Cort :)

We stopped and drank some of the Lithia water, supposed to be healthy but doesn't really taste so good...this is how we felt about it

We took a walk in the park,

Derric climbed pride rock (he was very proud of this accomplishment - he climbed it from the side he is sitting closest to),

And we ran into some deer!

We also stopped by this theatre, where they filmed part of Arrested Development inside!

Cort also wanted to pose with this statue

Cortney and Derric had a dance off, they were moving so fast it was a little blurry, but it was awesome!

As you can see, awesome.

And finally...the last pose!

Kim, Kim, and Cort went shopping at the mall.  Cort found this shirt and ran over to us giggling to show us, so we snapped a picture of her in it.  It is a picture of Chuck Norris and it says "Curls Bring the Girls".  Love the face!

We also went the farmers market where she enjoyed a yummy donut! We also went on the Harry and David tour here in town that was pretty interesting the same day.

And Cort is starting soccer next week so we got her some soccer clothes, she is pretty excited about it!

This picture is a little bleached out by the sun but they wanted to make one more silly face before they left

It was great having them come and stay!  The last couple of days we have just been resting and enjoying life!  We also invited some people from the ward over and had an ice cream party, it was pretty fun!
